He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Rowan and Frances Rowan (Hayworth); his former wife Marian (Keeler); his children, Ann McFarlane and Joseph Michael Nageldinger; his son-in-law Russell Hrab; and his brother Clifford Rowan.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy (Gottshall); his children, Christopher Rowan (Deborah) of San Diego, Carol Galas of Royal Oak, MI, James Nageldinger of Elmira, NY and Diana Hrab of Albion, MI; his grandchildren, Katherine Knowles, Alison Hrab, Andrea Clark (Eric), Maria Moubadder (Richard), Nicholas Galas, Adam Nageldinger (Kassandra), Joshua Nageldinger (Erica), Jacob Nageldinger (Serena), Katie Phillips (Ben), Meaghan Maloney, Jamie McFarlane and Kenyon McFarlane (Fiancé George); his great grandchildren, Kalina Clark, Lucas Clark, Caden Hoyt, Leah Moubadder, Brandon Moubadder, Owen Darling and Adelaide Darling; his sister Joyce Heiser (George); his father-in-law Kenneth Keeler; and also Dr. Rowan.
