He is survived by: his significant other Deanna Burke; his children, Melodie Butler (Mike) of Allen, MI, Joy Nappier (Tim) of Jackson, MI, Jamie Porter (Leta) of Jackson, MI, Jay Porter of Albion, MI and Jo Angela Porter of Dayton, OH; his siblings, Buelalee Gumper, Richard Porter and Carolyn Achtenberger; and his son John Allen Porter Jr.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
