He is survived by: his wife Esther Shafer (Whiting); his son David Shafer (Pam); his grandchildren, Drew and Lexi Shafer; his son Doug Shafer (Penny); his grandchildren, Erin, Ryan and Sydney Shafer; his sister Susan McMaster (Jim); his nieces and nephews, Morgan, Justin, Judy and Bill Hagadorn; his great-nephew Todd; and his great-nieces, Kristy and Kari.
