He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elwin Ruff and Lena Ruff (Kaiser); his wife Nancy Scherer; his children, Jody Young (Jeff), Lisa Downey and Allan Ruff (Heather); his grandchildren, Sydney Downey, Corey Downey, Mason Griffith, Morgan Griffith, Aliza Ruff and Alexandra Ruff; his brother Clarence Ruff (Mary); his sister-in-law Barbara Messacar (Skip Zabel); and his nieces and nephews, Kim Bergs, Angie Ruff, Milissa Ashford, Elizabeth Tarr, Amy Vervaras, Chris Ruff, Jamie Vervaras, Todd Vervaras, Brant Whitelock, Brett Whitelock and Donnie Messacar.
