He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tackett and Margaret Tackett (Hamilton); his grandmother Newman; and his brothers, Evan "Tubby", Charlie, William "Willy", Emmitt, Kenis and Andy.
He is survived by: his spouse Leelyn (Adams); his daughters, Teresa Mitchell, Patti Czernik (Richard) and Linda Burch (Rob); and his stepchildren, Trina Layne (Raymond), Lisa Justice and Lanny Justice (Jena). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.
