He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Francis and Carole Elaine Gaertner (Gorte); and his brother Robert Doyle. He is survived by: his siblings, Cheryl McFadden (Jeff) of Merrill, Patricia Keckler (Larry) of Centerville, Jerry Doyle (Sue) of Three Rivers, Joseph Gaertner, Jr. (Rosa) of Akron and Edward Gaertner (Angela) of Saginaw; his sister-in-law Vickey Doyle of White Pigeon; his close friend Ian Starr of Caseville; and his nephew Joseph Gaertner, III of Bad Axe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
