He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bird and Jennie Bird (Hicks); his wife Eunice Jane; his daughter Karen Annette Bird; and his siblings, Betty, Judy, Mary, Rosella, Ellen, Francis, Jennie and Walter Louis.

He is survived by: his children, Dale (Mai Quach) and Lara Bird (Janet); and his siblings, Janet Prajizmer, Cathy Averill, Karen Papadakis (Alex), Rebecca Bird, Sherri Bird and David (Susan). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Robert's memory may be given to Hospice of Lenawee Country and Christ Episcopal Church in Adrian.
