He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hughes and Eileen Hughes (Nies); and his siblings, Kathryn (Condon), Norman and Gerald.
He is survived by: his wife Nell Ann Johnston of Joseph's Catholic Church; his sons, Philip (Kimberly) of Ann Arbor and Matthew (Heather) of Manitou Beach; his grandchildren, Brandon (Janey), Claire, Alexander and Isaac; and his great grandchild Harvey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:25 AM at the Holy Family Parish (305 Division St, Adrian, MI 49221). A Mass was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
For memorial contributions the family suggests the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, Hospice of Lenawee, and Holy Family Parish.
