He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his daughters, Michelle Shaffer of Fresno and Amanda Shaffer of Eugene, Oregon; his grandchildren, Janee Shaffer of Canton, Erin Shaffer of Ypsilanti and Nathan Armstrong of Visalia, California; and his siblings, Margaret Phipps (Ben) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dan Shaffer (Rita) of Hudson and James Shaffer (Dorothy) of Adrian.
