He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton C. Canfield and Susie I. Canfield (Shattuck); and his sister Leslie Shea. He is survived by: his brother Burton "Bud" C. Canfield Jr.; and his wife Martha Canfield (Grover). He is also survived by three daughters and their spouses; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
