She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph Carruthers and Natalie Carruthers; her husband John B. Pendleton; her sisters, Natalie, Sandra (Quilty) and Pamela; her children, Sam, Laura, Peter (Liz), Nancy, Ted and Libby (Larry Closson); her stepchildren, Cynthia (Bill Cronin), Julie, John (Sarah Pendleton) and Brigham (Claudia Kaerner); and her grandchildren, Rory, Conor, Reilly Donovan, Topher, Emily, Abbie Young, Sarah Donovan, Allison, Caleb Pendleton, Duncan, Aaron Donovan, Braman, Kenersen Cronin, Milo Closson, Casimir and Georgia Pendleton.
Betsy remained active, even through the pandemic, participating in church services virtually, and working hard to maintain the friendships that had grown out of her love for good conversation and spiritual and emotional connection.
