Gurtman of York, Maine, born in Tacoma, Washington, who passed away on September 26, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederique Gurtman (Greenberg) and William Gurtman; and his sons, David and Benjamin. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Sarah, Nathan and Daniel; his son-in-law Matthew Chisholm; his grandsons, Isaac, Aaron Gurtman, Benjamin and Henry Chisholm; and his sister Barbara Oustatcher.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the York Public Library or the Astronomical Society of Northern New England to honor Carl's love of books, science, and learning.
