He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Brophy Sr. and Elizabeth Spaeth Brophy of Philadelphia. He is survived by: his wife Marcia Johnson Brophy of Winthrop; his children, Laurie Brophy of Waterville, James of Boston, Elizabeth (Todd Parker) of Portland and Jonathan (Kate); and his grandsons, Jack and Will of Scarborough. He is also survived by four children and two grandchildren.
