It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norven Wayne Carter of Windham, Maine, born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, who passed away on April 28, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid adieu to Norven Wayne's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Norven Wayne has bequeathed us. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carter and Verlie Carter (Walker); his son Duaine Carter; his brother Vernon Walker; and his son-in-law John Oakes.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Carter (Robinson) of Portland; his children, Michelle Oakes of Portland, Ann Dyer (Danny) of Scarborough, Alan Carter (Mary) of Westbrook and David Carter of Colorado; and his sisters, Judy Treadway of Stuart, VA and Linda Bowen (Thomas) of Virgilina, VA.
