He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Cummings, Sr. and Wilma Cummings (Towle); and his son Benjamin Cummings. He is survived by: his wife Wendy D. Cummings of Roanoke, VA.; his children, Thomas Cummings III (Kelly) of Albion, Jonathan Cummings of Phillips, Trapper Robitaille, Sarah and Amanda Cowing; his grandchildren, Thomas Cummings IV, Auburn Cummings, Elliana and Lucy Okuley; and his sisters, Anita Little and Ellen Amoral.
