He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank W. McDonald and Thelma Winslow McDonald; his sister Muriel M.; his brother-in-law Lawrence C. Tripp; his brothers, Douglas, Carroll and Clovis McDonald; and his sisters-in-law, Anita McDonald, Dorothy McDonald, Marilyn T. Macomber and Gwendlyn Mooar (Richard Mooar).
He is survived by: his former wife Kathleen Macomber (Kitty); his children, Kevin McDonald (Jane Foden) of Scarborough and Karen A. Bates of Portland; his grandchildren, John, Kelsey McDonald of Portland and Katharine Cole McDonald (Patrick Bates) of Portland; his wife Jen Monsulick of Portland; his great grandchildren, John "Jack", Miles Bates of Wayne, Grant, Grace McDonald of Portland and Amelia Bates of Winthrop, Mass.; his brothers, Olin McDonald, Vernon McDonald and Brent (Patricia McDonald); and his siblings-in-law, Norman R. Macomber, Barbara McDonald, Margurette "Peggy" McDonald and Vicki McDonald.
