Pauline Annie Marchant Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Pauline Annie Marchant (Westbrook, Maine), who passed away on February 19, 2018, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Pauline Annie Marchant to show support.

She graduated from Mexico High School in Mexico, Maine and soon after met the love of her life Bernie" who she was married to for almost 50 years.

Together they raised 5 children and eventually settled in Westbrook where she spent the remainder of her life. Much of her working life was as a waitress where she made many dear friends who knew her as "Polly". She did not see this as a job but as an opportunity to spend time with those who made her the happiest, apart from her family.

Years later while employed at Data General she completed several college courses, that later would become a conversation piece that made her proud. Pauline retired from the customer service desk at the Maine mall, where she again made numerous life-long friends. Anyone who met her was greeted with a smile, that would continue throughout her life as she reminisced on all the experiences she had, and the people she met along the way.

In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed playing cards, yard saling, bingo, watching game shows, attending Thursday night dinners at Profenno's, and watching the patriots with family and friends. Most recently, she enjoyed spending time at camp family and friends on Thomas Pond in Raymond or "up North" where she had lots of extended family.

She was best known for her love of Whoopie Pies and Little Debbie sweet treats, sugar with a splash of coffee, and her infamous spice cake that we are all still waiting to taste. She was predeceased by her son James, husband Bernie, and daughter Martha. She is survived by son William Marchant and wife Brenda of Dexter, Maine, son Clifford Marchant and wife Norma of South Portland, Maine, daughter Edna Bilodeau and husband Arthur of South Florida, son Steve Marchant and wife Loreen of Westbrook, Maine, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.

She will be sadly missed by those who loved her, and will remain forever in our hearts. There will be a celebration of Pauline's life on Saturday February 24, 2018 at the Westbrook Chapel Dolby, Blais & Segee, 35 Church Street, Westbrook, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 10:00-11:30 am followed by a memorial service. There will be a burial in the spring at Black Point Cemetery in a family plot, the date is to be determined.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Hospice of Maine (180 US Route 1 #1, Scarborough, ME 04074).
