He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Pontau and Camilla Cilley (Fusco); his son Gary Pontau; his stepfather Herbert Cilley; and his half-sister Patricia Porter.
He is survived by: his former wife Jeannette Conley (Geary); his daughters, Catherine (Michael Francoeur) of Windham, Julie (Joseph Dugas) of Windham and Michelle (Todd Arsenault) of Westbrook; his grandchildren, Joseph, Shawn Francoeur, Kayla (Conor Donoghue), Joshua Dugas, Brittney and Courtney Arsenault; and his half-brothers, Bob Pontau of Wiscasset, Mike Pontau of Wiscasset and Scott Pontau of Wiscasset.
