It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edith M Hegarty (Westbrook, Maine), born in Portland, Maine, who passed away on June 16, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Rachel, David, Nicholas and Allison; her great grandchildren, Tyler and Quinn; her husband Earl Hegarty; her sons, Warren Hegarty (Kathryn), George Hegarty (Marie) and Frank Hegarty (Debra); and her sister Elsie Heiser. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I just learned of the passing of Edie from my cousin Cynthia today and I was so saddened by the news. Memories of my childhood flashed in front of me. All the beautiful memories of the many visits with Earl and Edie as they were such great friends of Phyllis and Tony Mancini (my aunt and uncle). I would love my summer visits to Portland--enjoying so many days and weekends at family gatherings with Earl and Edie in attendance at many. Brenda Addario Leavitt--blessings to all!”
