He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Sr. Leighton and Glenys Leighton (Jones); and his siblings, Chester Jr., Norman, Benjamin, James, Shirley Jones and Evelyn Kaelber.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Leighton (Southard); his children, Charles Jr. (Edith), Bobbie and Adam; his granddaughters, Karina Masabanda, Aryn, Kane and Moia Leighton; his stepgrandchildren, Jeremy and Elizabeth Berkeley; his stepgreat-grandsons, Jonathan and Jensen Berkeley; his sisters, Glenys Loisell and Nancy Brown; and his nephews, Tim and Charlie Brown.
