He is survived by: his father Richard Merrifield; his siblings, Lesley Merrifield Jacobs (Henry) and Nathan "Joe" Merrifield; his nieces, Sarah and Rosalyn Jacobs; his nephew Joseph Jacobs; and his pet Oscar.
