He was predeceased by: his parents, Perley Whitney and Marion Whitney (Campbell); his brother Richard P. Whitney; and his grandson Matthew M. Heon. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Whitney (Grant); his children, Linda Gardner (Kenneth), Daniel Whitney, Debra Johnson (Tom), Arlan Whitney (Lila Conley) and Steven Whitney; and his grandchildren, Amber Milo, Jennifer Houston, Lauren Reitano, Hilary Whitney, Leah Doughty, Christopher Doughty, Mary Doughty, Arlan Smith, Michael Whitney, Stephen Whitney, Richard Whitney, Holly Whitney, David Whitney and Connor Whitney. He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.
