Melanson and Dorothy Melanson (Holden); his wife Susan Melanson (Chapman) of Shapleigh, ME.; his children, Jennifer Melanson Katsoulis (Gregory) of Cambridge, MA, James Melanson (Sara) of Melanson Hollow and Kristen Horn Guerrieo (Christopher) of Billerica, MA.; his grandchildren, Ryan Guerrieo, Matthew Guerrieo, Nicholas Guerrieo, Margot Melanson and Julian Katsoulis; his siblings, Terry Melanson of Cushing, ME, Janet Melanson Daniel (Joe) of La Quinta, CA and Beth Melanson Morrill (Bill) of Durham, ME.; and his close friends, David Wincapaw of Waldoboro, ME, Bruce "Sandy" Young of Andover, MA, Dr. Carl Landry of South Hiram, ME and Carol Mayhofer (Ginsberg) of East Palatka, FL..
He hauled anchor after a bout of congestive heart failure complicated by the residual effects of Covid-19 two years prior.
