He was predeceased by: his father Ivan Haakon Olson; his nephew Christopher Olson Guptill; and his grandparents, Percy, Albra Whittington (Oakes) of Vinalhaven, Oscar, Elin Olson (Depuis) of Vinalhaven and Norway.
He is survived by: his mother Norma Olson (Whittington); his pet Rosie; his wife Margaret Olson (Pecunies); his siblings, Mark E. Olson of Vinalhaven, Maine and Nancy Walker (Richie Walker) of Rockport, Maine; and his siblings-in-law, Michele Cronin and Paul Cronin of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
