With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jeanette Thompson of Union, Maine, who passed away on August 9, 2020 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jeanette Thompson to pay them a last tribute.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Wilho Hyvarinen and Hester Simmons Hyvarinen of Long Cove, Maine.; her daughters, Terry (Blaine Cook, Sr.) and Julie (Mike Waller); her former husband Linwood Thompson of Rockland; her son Gary L. Thompson of Washington; her siblings, Jewell Sylveria of Quarry Hill, Camden, Gary Hyvarinen (Sandra) of Union and Barbara Simpson of Rockland; her grandchildren, Heather Benson (Brian), Nathaniel Benner (Cori), Russell Cook, Blaine Cook, Jr. (Kasey), Zach Cook (Tia), Barbara Chapman (Bob) and Jesse Thompson; her stepgrandchildren, Sueann and Mikey; her great grandchildren, Michaela, Damian, Cody, Blaine, III, Bryce, Blake, Beaudry, Abbie, Adam, Kaitlyn, Marty, Malcolm and Delaney; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Timmarie, Trapper, Ale, Caleb, Chad, Leighton and Noah; her great great grandchild Phillip; her friend Georgia; and also Janice Dorman Cross. She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, cousins and her friends.
Since March when COVID hit us all, residents at Quarry Hill were quarantined and she missed having her meals in the dining room with her friends and all of the other activities there. You could say COVID took her life even though she never had it, she just couldn't take the isolation.
In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Donation Department 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
