He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hewes and Sylvia Hewes (Sprague); his wife Myrtle; and his siblings, Shirley Hamn, Phyllis Blaisdell, Charlotte Spencer and Raymond Hewes.
He is survived by: his daughter Sylvia Hewes of Wiscasset; and his stepchildren, Cindy Burns (Arnold Crabtree) of Union, Judy Albert (Tony) of Cornville, Rhonda Flagg (Darryl) of Jefferson, Joyce Edgecomb of Burkettville and Barry Peabody (Sarah) of Washington. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
