He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Strout and Mona Strout (Peabody); his son Dale Strout; his grandson Matt Morris; and his brother-in-law Gary Coolidge.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Strout of Strong; his sons, Reggie Strout (Claire) of Lewiston, Brian Morris (Athena) of California, Dean Strout of Otisfield and Scott Strout (Tina) of Otisfield; his brother Allen Strout (Pam) of Exeter; and his sister-in-law Patty Coolidge of Mexico. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
