He was predeceased by: his parent Sylvia A. Snowden (Barter) of Deer Isle; and his grandparents, Maurice E., Helen Barter (Smith), Jason G. Snowden and Edith Snowden Marshall (Pickering).

He is survived by: his father John E.; his stepmother Catherine M. Snowden of Deer Isle; his siblings, John "Peter" E. Snowden Jr of Dahlonega, GA and Cynthia S. Royal of Warrenton, VA; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica Sweeney (Stephen), Jamie Long (Zack), Austin Royal, Lisa Snowden (Allen Parker) and John E. Snowden III. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
