He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence C. Briggs and Florence G. Briggs (Bishop); his children, Joel A. Briggs, Christopher C. Briggs and Kelly J. Briggs; and his sister Janet Heberger.
He is survived by: his son Kevin (Mark); his wife Maureen; his siblings, Jeff (Lindley) and Mary (Earl Smith); and his aunt Marilyn Glavine. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
