He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Young Smith and Carlton Smith; his stepmother Kay Smith; his wife Beverley; his grandson Jake Dyer; his uncle Wesley Smith; his sister-in-law Brenda Smith; his brother Stretch Smith; his parents-in-law, Elliott and Irene Ward; his brother-in-law Elliott Ward; and also Stevie Morin.
He is survived by: his children, Lyn (Toby) and Wes (Jessica); his grandchildren, Emily, Kelci and Peyton; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alex and Maverick; his brothers, Owen of Belfast, David (Leona) of Connecticut and Dennis (Karin) of Florida; his parents-in-law, Cora Dean Ward, Dennis, Mieko Ward of Okinawa, Russell and Kathy Ward of Minnesota; and his aunts, Barbara Howard and Jean Howard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Sussman House Volunteer Fund in Roger's memory at 40 Anchor Drive Rockport, Maine, 04856. Contributions to the Sussman House Volunteer Fund will honor Roger's peaceful passage and support the compassionate care provided by volunteers to those in need.
