He was predeceased by: his parent James Ashley; his brother-in-law Francis McDonald; and his sister Christina Keating. He is survived by: his parent Ethel Ashley (Dunn); his children, James E. Ashley, III (Sarah) of Haverhill, MA, Susan M. Ashley-Kistner (Peter) of Phoenix, AZ, Gregory M. Ashley (Elizabeth) of Tewksbury, MA and Christopher J. Ashley (Elizabeth) of Chelmsford, MA.; his grandchildren, Jonathon, Jared, Jaelyn, Juliette, Joshua, Jonathan, Jaime, Nicholas, Meghan, Jacob, Jesse and Julia; his great grandchild Jaquilyne; and his brothers, Kenneth Ashley of Windham, ME and Richard Ashley of Portland, ME. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
