He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Lenora Wathen (Fulton) and Glendon Richard Wathen. He is survived by: his wife Amy Pike; his sisters, Karen Wathen of Scarborough, ME and Laurie Cothran (Barry) of Troy, OH; his nephew Captain Sean Cothran of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; and his nieces, Shannon and Erin Cothran of Troy, Ohio..
