He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Alward and Gladys McGowan Alward; and his brother James "Jimmy" Alward (Mary Lou). He is survived by: his children, Beth Alward (Michael Taylor) of South Portland and Owen Taylor; and his sisters, Polly Busby (John) of Gray and Jacquie Burr of North Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
