With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas A. Whitten (Sanford, Maine), who passed away on October 22, 2019 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Whitten and Flora M. Whitten (Benson); his son Lawrence Everett Whitten; and his siblings, Everett Whitten, Arthur Whitten, Arnold Whitten, Lawrence Whitten and Evelyn Benson.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Whitten of Sanford; his children, Barbara Buehne of Sanford, Steven Whitten (Pat) of Sanford, Donna Griffin (John) of Biddeford, Bobbie Lizotte (Butch) of Lebanon and Ralph Varney of Waterville; and his nephew Bob Benson. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
