It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rowland Ames Jr. of Saint George, Maine, born in Rockland, Maine, who passed away on November 26, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rowland Ames, Sr. and Rose Demmons; and his half-sister Gloria Kenney. He is survived by: his aunt Madeline Ames; his close friends, Fred Ripley and Lisa Payson; his children, Kimberly Peabody (Gary) of Matinicus and Nathan Ames of St. George; his grandchildren, Dustin Lindsey (Kristen), Dylan Lindsey, Megan Peabody (Victor Alveraz), Taylor Lindsey (Daniel Pollak), Joshua Peabody (Melissa Kelly) and Alyson Peabody (Xander Nelson); his great grandchildren, Declan and Thomas Lindsey; his nieces and nephews, James Kenney, Rochelle Kenney, Julie Kenney and Kelly Kenney; and also, Skip, Ted and Matt. He is also survived by dogs, and later visiting his daughter and spoiling her family's dogs and cats.
Due to COVID restrictions, the celebration of Rowland's life will be a live web-cast service at 11:00 a. m., Wednesday, December 2.
