He was predeceased by: his parents, Narcisse Fontaine and Marie Fontaine (Huot); his wife Muriel Fontaine (Roy); his daughter Susan Cote; and his siblings, Ernie, Beatrice, Muriel, Jean and Therese.

He is survived by: his children, Janice Coulthard (Charles) and Steven Fontaine; and his grandchildren, Kevin, Brian, Sarah, Amy and Zachary. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
