He was predeceased by: his parents, James Rankin and Gladys Black (Norwood). He is survived by: his wife Carol Black; his children, James R. Black III (Sue), Karen Smith and Susan Ebling (Steve); his grandchildren, Joshua (Shirley), Hillary (Julian), Sarah, Hannah (Peter), Rob (Sarah), James IV, Emma, Hunter and Dominque; and his great grandchildren, Anthony, Rory, Amari, Lily Grace, Amiyah, Arlo and Jack James.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cote Funeral Home Chapel (87 James St, Saco, ME 04072). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at the Laurel Hill Cemetery (293 Beach St, Saco, ME 04072).
