He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Wilfred Carey and Marie Larouche Carey; his mother Constance Jacobs; his daughter Michelle Hamel; and his pet Molly.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Linda Fluker of Sabattus; his children, Lisa Sparrow of Augusta, Lori Mairs of Oakland and John of Buxton; his sister Violet Clukey of Plymouth, ME; and his half-sister Linda Elston-Dykes. He is also survived by four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
