She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Earl Merchant and Doris Merchant (Marston); her children, Kimberly Gautreau-Peare (Dan) of Andover and Mathew Gautreau of Westbrook; her siblings, Earl "Glendon" Merchant, Jr and Mary Smith of Oxford; her stepchildren, Timothy Gautreau (Shelley), Theodore Gautreau of South Portland and Claudia Bernheisel of South Portland; her sister Edith "Sis" Merchant; and her stepdaughter Theresa Gautreau.
