He was predeceased by: his parents, Jorma Kangas and Vilma Kangas (Haarala); his son Eric Kangas; his sister Leonora Kangas Merrifield (Richard Merrifield); and his nephew Brander Merrifield.
He is survived by: his daughter Christina Kangas; his grandson Ryan Kangas; and his nieces, Afton Merrifield Rodriguez and Sienna Merrifield Giffin. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
