It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Monroe Jr. (Rockland, Maine), who passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard, Sr. Monroe and Priscilla McCaslin Monroe. He is survived by: his wife Linda Monroe of Warren; his children, Scott Monroe (Martha) of Warren, Susan Holbrook (Donald) of Hope, Lynnette Oldroyd (James W.) of Warren and Michelle Luce (Jason) of Sebago; his siblings, Joan Harjula of Thomaston, Frederick Monroe (Jean) of South Hope, Charles Monroe (Patty) of Warren and Michael R. Monroe (Joanna) of South Thomaston; and his grandchildren, Rachel Malburg (Josh) of Michael, S. E, Monroe (Jillian), Nicholas Flynn (Danielle), Chelsea Griffin (Darek), Georgianna Flynn, Andrew Flynn (Abbey Peaselee), Austin Costa, Lindsey Del Vecchio (Antonio), James B. Oldroyd (Kaitlyn), Lucas Oldroyd, Helena Luce (Damien Pierce) and Maggie Luce (Charlie McDonough). He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a large loving extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home (110 Limerock St, Rockland, ME 04841).
