He was predeceased by: his sister Kathy Archer; and his niece Lori Ludwig. He is survived by: his parents, Ralph Ludwig and Barbara Lindsey Ludwig; his stepfather Llewellyn Baines; his brothers, Raymond Baines, Buddy Baines, Ludwig Baines (Helen) of Thomaston and George Baines (Dannett) of Durham; his nephews, Scott Archer of Rockland, Tim Archer of Thomaston, Mike Archer of Thomaston, Kurt Ludwig of Thomaston, Edward Ludwig of Naples, FL and Brandon Baines of Japan; his niece Becky Foster of Scarborough; and also, Priscilla Barnes (Paul) of Thomaston and Edward Ludwig of Thomaston.
