He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell Young and Cecelia Mitchell Young; his siblings, Catherine Simaitis, Beverly Pauley and Roger Young; and his granddaughter Brianna Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Barrows of Owls Head; his children, Scott Young (Michelle) of Tenants Harbor, Shannon Young of South Thomaston and Susanne Martin of Thomaston; his grandchildren, Danica Hooper, Devyn Hooper, Noah Martin, Garrett Young, Jamie Martin and Gavin Young; his great grandchild Levi Hooper-Chipman; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Young of South Thomaston, Rosemary, Jeff Weymouth of Camden, Wayne 'Butch Barrows of Camden, Jeff Barrows of Union, Donna Barrows of Rockland and Bobbi Barrows of Rockport. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
