He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Merriam and Madelyn Scott Merriam; his brothers-in-law, Red Boguen of Belfast and Bruce Chandler of Swansville; and his son-in-law Bruce Staley.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy of Richmond; his children, Stacey "Casey" Staley of Bushnell, Sherry Moody (Danny) of Dresden, Kimberly Campbell (Jamie) of Bangor, Josee Dumas (Bill) of Whitefield, Timothy Adams (Irene) of Richmond, Penny Pelletier (Jody Mills) of Wiscasset, Erika Thibeault (Greg Thornton) of Whitefield, Terry and Lisbon; and his sisters, Sandra Boguen of Belfast, Sheila Chandler of Swansville and Sharon Paul (Walter) of Gorham. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren several nephews, neices and cousins.
