With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William T. Ames of Readfield, Maine, born in Brewer, Maine, who passed away on June 1, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint William leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Ames (Shoppe); and his sister Nancy R. Ames. He is survived by: his children, W. Thomas Ames, Jr. (Priscilla M. Ames) of Uxbridge, MA and Alison L. Ames (Robert L. Deschamps, Jr.) of Augusta, ME; his grandchildren, Brandon and Elizabeth Batchelder (Liza); his great grandchildren, Dylan, Johnathan Batchelder and Kyle Bryant; and his great great grandchild Brooklyn Batchelder.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough.
