He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Smith and Hazel Smith (Snowie); his wife Maxine; and his brother Merle F. Smith. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Keliher (Michael), Scott Smith (Diane) and Randy Smith (Deborah); his grandchildren, Libby Reynolds (Alice Harsh), Dory Graham (Leigh Smith), Kelly Smith and Jamie Smith (Nichole Smith); his stepgranddaughter Wendy McKenney (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Samuel, Ben Reynolds, Logan, Hailey Harsh, Porter, Alden Graham and Remi Smith; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Emilia and Brynn McKenney; and his sister-in-law Sylvia Lovley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to House of Comfort or Grant Memorial United Methodist Church.
