She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Franklin Bishop and Laura Potter Bishop. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

As Thelma was a great lover of animals, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests that a donation be made to an organization for the betterment of animals.
