He is survived by: his sons, Benjamin S. Mathews Jr. (Betsy) of Dunnellon and Laforest "Larry" Mathews (Julie) of Pittsfield. He is also survived by five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
