He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Merrill and Gertrude Merrill (Welch); and his siblings, Leon Merrill, Eleanor Leo, Irvin Merrill, Erwin Merrill, Melvin Merrill, Carolyn Collins, Marilyn Batchelor, Laura Brown and Frances Holmquist.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Dennis of Peru; his children, Douglas (Brenda), Tammy Martin (Dennis) of Norway, Crystal Brennick of Augusta and Scott (Tracy) of Turner; and his siblings, Edda (Margaret Merrill), Paul (Carol Merrill), Caddy Merrill, Lorraine (Charlie Plaisted) and Lois Bellegarde. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
