She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Nealand Smith and Grace Smith (Tasker); her husband Alan Gower; her children, Charles Shaw, III (Tawni) of Detroit, Herbert Shaw (Elsie "Tinker") of Detroit, Lillian Philbrick (Stephen) of Detroit and Marcia Cox (Michael) of Palmyra; her sister Margaret Robinson of Newburgh; her grandchildren, Charles Shaw, IV (Mindy), Jessica Shaw-Winzler (Chris), Crystal Ballard (Shawn Doll), Elizabeth Gallagher (Dustin), Olivia Shaw-Lust (Nick) and Abigail Shaw; her nephew Gary (Bonnie Cole) of Dixmont; her niece Nancy Klein of Etna; and her granddaughter Danielle Shaw. She was also cherished by 8 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
